Thought #8 – Where is the balance?

Read it carefully.

Your work time might be 9 to 5 or 10 to 6 or be it anything. One thing that I can bet on right now is that we all work more than the work time.

By working more I don’t mean that you are working on continuous deadlines or sitting in front of laptop for long hours.

Even when you think about work, post work time that is also counted as work.

Maintaining a balance between work and personal life is a not a cake walk. Many people fail at it and I am a complete failure when it comes to this.

If there is any reader who has learnt to master this skill, please pass the knowledge on haha. How do you attempt to maintain this balance?

  1. Well sweetheart, I’m really thankful to have come across your Instagram page and this blog, wherever you may be and whoever you maybe, I first have to thank you so much for being such a wonderful writer.
I’ll share one small lesson that I’ve learnt very late in my life. But before that listen to this, there might be times when people would be burning you in fire, and times when they hammer you to the ground, but that’s how 24 carat gold is made. Enjoy the process.
Now to the main thing, I used to take a lot of work pressure in my life, but at one point I realised that you’d get out of this loop only when you find a higher purpose in life and it should be higher than work to you. Unless you have it, you’d not feel like getting up out of that chair. The higher purpose could be becoming financially stable by investing in stocks or enrolling into a new study course, or even developing a new skill. It depends on which stage of life you are at. I chose the Bhagavad Gita and made sure that I had at least an hour everyday – no compromises. You have to make yourself accountable to someone really close to you.
By doing this, you’d move slowly away from what you don’t want to do (work in this case) to something better. And you’d realise to your surprise that it’ll all fall in place. You’d change your perspective of the world. As you keep achieving these purposes, look for higher ones, because the gold that stays in the furnace to long also is of no use. Explore, that’s how you’d find the gems of your life. That’d make you a shining masterpiece. I realised this too late in my life, else what I’ve written here would’ve been a best-selling book by one of the best entrepreneurs in New York. I hope it isn’t too late for you.
I’ll stop it here because with the maturity you’ve written the other blogs, this wouldn’t be worth one bit the wisdom you have.
PS. Just one simple trick I use when I’m under the pump, I close my eyes, forget all that’s going on for a moment and smile and enjoy the good things of life.. And if this doesn’t help, I imagine me holding my wife’s hand or even better lifting her in my arms, and walking through an endless road.
ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVOURS DARLING

    1. Thank you so much Inspired Reader for sharing your advice. Would be useful for anyone who reads it as well.

You can still write a best-selling book and let me assure you I will will definitely buy a copy. I don’t know who you are but I am loving the curiosity of not knowing you but yet I feel connected in some ways.
