In Sanskrit, Tathastu means ‘So be it’.
“It’s a belief that the Gods are watching us from above and whatever we say good or bad, God from above will say Tathastu. This means whatever we wish for, would come true”.
Just now, I finished watching Zakir Khan show “Tathastu” and I am sitting here with mixed feeling. He is an amazing storyteller and comedian undoubtedly but there was one line in the show that touched me the most and I am sure would have touched everyone else as well, wherein he said,
“Professional goals are temporary. They CAN BE attempted tomorrow. They are not very important. But Personal Loss is permanent“.
Maybe we won’t understand the magnitude of what Zakir said, maybe we will understand it only when we experience it first hand but I guess that would be too late.
We, human beings take life for granted and we forget that one day the things that we have taken for granted or people that we have taken for granted would cease to exist. And maybe there won’t be any next time or tomorrow either for you or for them. Things would be left unsaid or unheard that we won’t be able to do anything about, if and only if we don’t understand what is actually temporary.
Just imagine, as soon as you wake up you start your day with negativity and throughout your day you keep on thinking negative thoughts and now what if, God listens from above and says Tathastu…
