The story behind J2H

So…Why did I choose journey2home as my blog name and not anything else? Was it just a random preference out of the blue? Or was there any thought behind it and why am I even writing about it. These are some of the questions that I am going to try to answer in this post.

Friends!!! You will not believe when I say this but it took me around one month just to come up with this name. Before even starting blogging or my own instagram page I had created a facebook page for journey2home where I used to post some writings of mine and there were few people who totally misunderstood the meaning behind it.

They used to get emotional just reading the name, maybe because they were away from home, and every time they read Journey2Home, memories of their home flashed in front of them.

It is not their fault that they misunderstood, because it was me who didn’t write the post, the one I am writing now to explain what it means to me and why I chose this. That’s the sole reason why I am even writing about it.

During that one month, I brainstormed many ideas, as you can see in the image below (my handwriting is not usually that bad, trust me :D). I am going to mention few names that are in the image for people who cannot understand my beautiful handwriting.

So, the various names that I came up with were: positivityeverywhere, beyou, maviemyrules (which means mylifemyrules), journeytowardsyou, perspective, nevergiveup, positivevibes etc.

I am sorry but the reason behind “etc” is because I could not decode my own handwriting.

Among various names there was one name “journeyhome” that I really liked and which really touched my heart. Later I altered the name to journey2home.

So, why did I choose it? It is a question that is not asked by many, surprisingly. But I am not surprise… seriously I am not. You know why? Because if I was on your place I would have easily gone with the literal meaning of J2H.

Many believe that J2H relates to the journey to our respective homes; the home we reside in, the home where we actually belong.

But unfortunately it’s not like that.

When I chose this name I did not think or decide to use it in such a context and that’s why I feel it’s important that all of you know what it means to me in the first place.

So, as I said, it doesn’t relate to the journey towards our home. J2H prima facie may seem like that, but it’s not.

For me life is a journey to know myself better and I am sure one day I will find my real, authentic self.

THAT DAY I’LL BE HOME.

The word “home” in J2H means our “real self”.

To conclude, journey2home is our individual journey to know ourselves better. It is a journey that we need to take inside of ourselves and not outside.
