This thought is simply a question.
Does the mere fact that something has been followed for years make it inherently correct, especially if no one has ever questioned it?
Alternatively, does the first person to question it becomes wrong by default and labeled as stupid or insane for challenging a longstanding tradition or calculation or belief?

True, questioning the long standing tradition is harder than being actually wrong.
You know you are right but people wont accept the truth.

I feel it is not just about being right or wrong, it involves many other external factors that we cannot maybe forsee and hence there will always be different sets of reactions from people.

True ! adding to this, i feel questioning could be done with a spirit of open-mindedness, brainstorming from your known angles and your willingness to engage in constructive conversations with your known people could bring a shape to your Question’s Answer.
